WyreStorm EXP-CON-DAC-D

The WyreStorm EXP-CON-DAC-D is a Digital to analogue audio converter capable of taking up S/PDIF audio encoded as Dolby Digital 5.1 from a compatible coaxial or TOSLINK audio source and downmixing to analogue stereo. Additionally the switchable digital output allows the signal to be output in its original form or downmixed like the stereo RCA output.

DOLBY DOWN-MIXING

Licensed by Dolby Laboratories to convert 5.1 compressed bitstream from a surround sound source device such as Blu-Ray players, cable & satellite receivers or media devices, the EXP-CON-DAC-D properly downmixes the 6 channel audio stream to the stereo RCA outputs.

MULTIPLE I/O OPTIONS

The EXP-CON-DAC-D has the option to convert a digital signal from either S/PDIF coaxial or TOSLINK inputs using a simple input selection switch. Using the output selection control the unit can furthermore then output the same signal to the S/PDIF outputs as a loop-through of the original signal or as downmixed PCM stereo which can then be fed into an S/PDIF input of an audio system, mirroring the analogue stereo output.

USB POWERED

With installation flexibility in mind, the EXP-CON-DAC-D can be powered using the included 5v DC power supply (with included regional pin adaptors) or use the USB power cable to power the DAC-D from a USB power or peripheral port on a third party device, potentially saving a mains outlet.
